‘Architecture is a three-legged tool: climate, technology and culture. Together they generate the building’
The above quote puts together in a nutshell what we look for in buildings to feature on our blog. And here is an architect who taught us through his works how contextualism is key to architecture. Sadly on 16th June 2015, the architecture world mourned his demise. His buildings are a fusion of traditional values and modernism. Hypaethral spaces and sculptural landscapes within the buildings were signature features of his designs. He encourages recognizing the existing site conditions and constraints to fuel the architect’s imagination. We take this opportunity to pay our respects to the great teacher he continues to be through his buildings. The advice he has for young architects at the end of the interview is gold!
