Contrary to popular belief, UAE is not just a sandpit. There are mountains, oases, mangroves, rocks and former seabed turned plains. If you're curious to learn about the geological changes Sharjah (and the world) went through over millenia, a good place to visit is the Buhais Geological Park.
Located 48 kilometers south-east of Sharjah, in the protected archeological site of Jebel Buhais is an interpretive centre, to understand the various geological formations of the region. A detailed dive into the architecture, which was designed by Hopkins Architects will follow this photo feature.
Enjoy the futuristic, yet grounded pod design, which we hope will make you want to visit this little gem!
